उत्तराखंड उच्च न्यायालय ने थराली आपदा के मामले में राज्य सरकार से रिपोर्ट मांगी है। एक जनहित याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए हाईकोर्ट ने पूछा कि प्रभावित लोगों को क्या सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई गईं। क्षेत्रवासियों को हो रही समस्याओं के मद्देनजर राज्य सरकार को प्रगति रिपोर्ट पेश करने के निर्देश दिए। साथ ही लोगों को मूलभूत सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराने को कहा।
चमोली जिले की थराली तहसील में 22 अगस्त को पिंडर और प्राणमती नदियों से आई आपदा के बाद क्षेत्रवासियों को हो रही परेशानियों का मामला हाईकोर्ट पहुंचा था। याचिका पर मुख्य न्यायाधीश जी नरेन्दर और न्यायमूर्ति सुभाष उपाध्याय की खंडपीठ में सुनवाई हुई। धराली निवासी अधिवक्ता सिद्धार्थ नेगी ने उच्च न्यायालय में यह जनहित याचिका दायर की है।
इस याचिका में कहा गया कि आपदा के दौरान एक लड़की मलबे में दबकर मृत हो गई और एक व्यक्ति लापता हो गया। आपदा के बाद स्कूल और हॉस्पिटल को दूसरी जगह शिफ्ट कर दिया गया लेकिन सड़कें अभी भी क्षतिग्रस्त हैं। इससे स्थानीय लोगों को आवश्यक सामान पहुंचने में कठिनाई हो रही है।
याचिकाकर्ता ने अदालत से आग्रह किया कि आपदा प्रभावित स्थानीय लोगों को जरूरी सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई जाएं ताकि स्कूली छात्र और बीमार बुजुर्ग भी अपनी दिनचर्या में राहत महसूस कर सकें। अदालत ने सभी तथ्यों पर विचार करते हुए राज्य सरकार को प्रभावितों की मदद सुनिश्चित करने और प्रगति रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करने का निर्देश दिया।
